Emboar's movepool complements its high Attack well, learning several powerful physical moves such as Flare Blitz and Hammer Arm, as well as Flame Charge to boost its poor Speed, making it a good choice for beginners.

Snivy evolves into Servine at level 17, and into Serperior at level 36, and it retains the pure Grass typing throughout.ДЄ Fire-type pig Pokemon, Tepig and its evolved forms Pignite and Emboar have the highest Health and Attack of the three available starters, and is the only one to gain a secondary typing through evolution, becoming a Fire/Fighting type during the Pignite stage. However, it does not have many options for attack coverage aside from Grass and Normal moves, so it is considered a more advanced choice than the others.

Serperior is capable of learning several stat-raising moves like Growth and Coil, as well as a number of Grass moves such as Leaf Blade and Leech Seed. Rival waits for you on the steps while you meet the professor's assistant, who turns out to be Bianca, one of the rivals from Black and White! Like Juniper, Bianca gives you the choice between three different Pokemon: Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott.ДЄ Grass-type snake Pokemon, Snivy and its evolved forms Servine and Serperior are the fastest of the three available starters, as well as having the highest Defense and Special Defense. Unfortunately, there isn't much to do here yet, and your rival prevents you from entering the Trainer School or the PokeCenter, as well as leaving the city, so the only place you should bother with is the overlook to the north end of the city. After exiting the house, heading north you run into your rival, who has already met up with Juniper's assistant and gotten his first Pokemon, and his sister, and after a brief chat, Rival's sister goes home and the two of you continue to explore the city. After talking on her Xtransceiver, she enters the house to talk to you, where she instructs you to go to the town overlook to meet Professor Juniper's assistant and receive your first Pokemon. In the shot, you can see your rival talking to his sister, and your mother walking toward your house. A location new in Black 2 and White 2, Aspertia City is located in the far southwest corner of Unova, and has several important locations that the other hometowns in Pokemon games do not have, including a Pokemon Center and a Trainer's school.
